![]() He later formed his own paving business, Heinold and Associates Construction, INC, where he paved many parking lots and private driveways. ![]() One of his many accomplishments at Fauber’s was the layout and design of I-65 from Lafayette to Lebanon, IN. He worked at Fauber Construction in Lafayette, IN for many years, as an asphalt paving superintendent. He was a graduate of LaCrosse High School and then attended Purdue in Civil Engineering. He was born Novemin LaCrosse, IN, to Charles and Ina Mae (Bruder) Heinold. Heinold, 81, passed away September 22, 2022, peacefully with his wife by his side at Creasy Springs Legacy in Lafayette, IN. Memories and condolences may be left at Send Flowers Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home is honored to serve the Heinold family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pine Village Community Fund. Interment will be at Mound Cemetery, Pine Village, IN. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 AM EST followed by a memorial service at 11:00am EST, Pastor Linda Sproull officiating. Services will be Saturday Octoat Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home in Oxford, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Carol Zippel and Jean Singleton and a grandson, Finn Liu. Also surviving are his oldest brother, Clyde Heinold of Wanatah, IN, ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Horn) Jones-Heinold of Pine Village and three sons, Charles (Donna) Heinold, Lebanon, IN, Dean (Mary) Heinold, Reading, MA, Jeremy (Darrah) Heinold, Greenville, SC, two step-daughters, Jennifer (Alan) Gick, Fowler, IN and Amber (George) Liu of Bloomington, IL. Gary loved his family and friends and everyone loved Gary. Gary was an avid sports fan, including Nascar, football and basketball. He also loved feeding and watching the birds and squirrels in the yard at home. Gary enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, gardening, landscaping, woodworking, driving his tractor and chopping wood for the winter. After retirement, he worked part-time for several years for the Town of Shadeland as their paving superintendent. Gary was always a workaholic and winter didn’t slow him down, he plowed snow and also completed many home remodeling jobs.
